Matanglawin: An Educational Show

Are the shows you see in the television helps you a lot? How did the television influence you very much? How can inspire you to be a good citizen in your country? What shows in the television that really helps you well?

Many people have different perception about the shows in the television. On how the way they look at it. How the host delivers their speech in the shows. Many shows every day that we are watching in the television.  Things that they broadcast in the television that very important to the public. The television  announces facts and news every day.

Matanglawin (Lit. Hawkeye) is a weekly science-environmental educational show hosted by “Philippine’s Trivia King” Kuya Kim Atienza, and is geared towards the young and young at heart. Matanglawin takes its audiences on adventures to natural and supernatural worlds to learn about wildlife, science concepts, culture, practical and general knowledge and basically everything under the sun by being “Mapanuri, Mapagmatiyag, Mapangahas! (Inquisitive, Vigilant, Adventurous!)” It is aired on ABS-CBN every Sunday mornings at 10am, with replays daily on Knowledge Channel (available only on Cable and ABS-CBN TVPlus). The show premiered on March 24, 2008 as a late-night program before it was moved to its current time schedule. As the program title defines, Kuya Kim takes on the vantage point of a Philippine hawk – Mapanuri, Mapagmatiyag, Mapangahas!(Inquisitive, Vigilant, Adventurous!) – as he takes on the role of an explorer in search of new insights, interesting trivia, legends to demystify, the paranormal, endemic and non-endemic plants and animals, beliefs and traditions, different cultural practices and basically everything and anything under the sun.

Kuya Kim’s thirst for adventure and information cannot be matched as he overcomes challenges from being lost in jungles and islands to conquering his fear of heights to being bitten by a monitor lizard.

This show in the television is very educational to the audience. It helps us widen our knowledge because of these shows. Animals that very wild can also can make our own pet. By simple follow the good process and caring of the animals. Kuya Kim helps us lots of things to become aware of the things around us the precautions that we should learn and to be alert. The shows earn more awards because of its good influence to the people who are watching. Many people such as students and parents who are eager to watch this shows. It helps everyone to be open-minded to things around us. We can apply this knowledge in our classroom as a student and even just a people. This show is very good example that must learn by kids to help them grow with a good and educational things. Instead of going out to and go to the zoo this shows helps us to identify animals and other creature. Magic and tricks that Matanglawin did was very amazing and it keep as a lot of idea that coming inside on our minds.

The show makes us enjoy and at the same time learned a lot of things while watching this kind of shows in television.

Many shows now are seeing in the television but some of them are not really good to us. It may give bad or good influence to the audience; depending on the shows that they tell that suit to everyone. People always have these questions that always in their minds. How can these shows help them to improve their self? How can we relate this knowledge that we learn in this movie? What are the purposes in showing this kind of shows that can’t be good to everybody?  These things might come around in our mind but we just watch the movie to understand the topics that they want to tell to us or what we really want to hear. The shows that are just there to influence us in any manners. It depends on us on how we apply it to our own daily lives. What television shows that have educational things that you learn from it? Did you apply it in your school and even in your life? How it help you to become more open-minded in your perspectives in life?
